The 2011 Appalachian Women's Fund Holiday Luncheon will be held Tuesday, December 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. at Crave in Boone, North Carolina.

Members and friends are invited to celebrate another successful year helping women and girls in our mountain communities at our 5th annual Holiday Luncheon. What better way to celebrate the holidays than with good food, great company, and a worthy cause?

There will be an opportunity to do a little holiday shopping while you're there. Kathy Jordan from Usborne Books will have beautifully illustrated, award-winning childrens books on sale, and a portion of the proceeds comes to Appalachian Women's Fund! Come a little early to browse, and if you can't make it to the luncheon, you can buy the books online and still benefit AWF. [Check out the website]

This year we will continue the tradition of giving gifts to women in our community who need it most. Items like warm clothing, toiletries, and scented candles can brighten the holidays for our sisters who have had a difficult year. If you'd like to participate in the gift drive, bring a wrapped gift valued between $25 - $50 marked with its contents and size to the luncheon, and we will distribute them to our partner agencies.
