A Safe Home for Everyone (A.S.H.E.) provides services and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to help them escape and recover from abusive environments. Services include 24-hour crisis assistance, shelter for families in crisis, court advocacy and accompaniment, support groups for adults and children, counseling services, educational programs and training, and financial assistance for survivors to become self-sufficient.

DANA supports victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and advocate DV/SA prevention through community education. They provide both local and federal victims with services that include, but are not limited to: DV/SA Advocates to support and listen to the victim, written information and materials, referrals to appropriate agencies, shelter, educational Programs, trained victim compensation advocates, trained court advocates, trained medical advocates, english Support Group, spanish Support Group, transportation for victims to necessary appointments, and interpretating for Spanish speaking victims for necessary appointments. Their crisis line is available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year and will be answered by a trained advocate who can answer questions, address concerns, help in an emergency situation, or simply listen to your story.

The ACCESS program offers such students a four-year university education at Appalachian debt-free. Specifically, the ACCESS program supplements federal financial aid grants, state financial aid grants and scholarships, and other forms of financial assistance with sufficient funds to cover the cost of institutional charges (tuition, fees, room, board) and, for those who qualify, an on-campus job for personal expenses for up to four years (eight semesters).

The organization provides Emergency Shelter Services and Transitional Family Housing, operates the Bread of Life Community Kitchen, distributes the Second Harvest Food Box Program, maintains the Rock Haven Independent Living Facility, serves as a Red Cross Disaster Relief Center and administers WeCAN – a crisis intervention and homeless prevention program.

W.A.M.Y.’s Weatherization Assistance and Heating Appliance Repair and Replacement programs enable low-income families to permanently reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy-efficient. By reducing the energy bills of our clients, funds are liberated to spend on more pressing family issues. On the average, weatherization reduces heating bills by 31% and overall energy bills by $358 per year.
