Each year at our summer luncheon, we celebrate the great work done by women in our community by awarding an individual (or individuals) with the Woman of Vision Award. Each of these women has made an immesurable impact on the lives of women and girls in our area. Thanks, ladies!
2011 Women of Vision
Bonnie & Jamie Schaefer
The Appalachian Women's Fund was honored to present Bonnie and Jamie Schaefer with the 2011 Women of Vision Award for their generous, philanthropic work on behalf of impoverished women and girls in our mountain communities. The award presentation took place at the 4th annual luncheon at the Blowing Rock Country Club on Thursday June 23rd. The board and members of the AWF are humbled by the continued support of Bonnie and Jamie, owners of Westglow Resort and Spa. Congratulations ladies!
The event featured speakers Lee Cornett of DANA (Domestic Abuse is Not Acceptable) from Ashe County and Cathy Williamson, AWF Public Relations Chairperson.
